The Rio Linda/Elverta Chamber of Commerce is kicking off the Honorary Mayor Contest as of Thursday March 18, 2010.
It is hoped that you will take this opportunity to sponsor a candidate in this annual event. Your non-profit organization can enjoy the benefit of this unique way to raise additional funds. Fifty percent of the candidate’s vote ticket sale money will be returned to your organization, with fifty percent going to the Chamber of Commerce to defray the costs of holding the event and community projects. (See attached rules and regulations).
Candidates can start selling their vote tickets upon receipt of their application from the sponsoring non-profit organization and starting date of the ticket sales, Thursday, March 18, 2010 and ending Thursday May 20, 2010, at 5:00 p.m.
A date for the Honorary Mayor’s Ball will be announced and installed at the Mayor’s Ball (Date and location to be determined).
We trust that the campaign will be a spirited and fun event, and beneficial to the sponsoring organizations. (There are no losers in this event).
An entry form is attached for your convenience.
The Chamber of Commerce does not enter or sponsor a candidate in this event, though being a member of the Chamber of Commerce does not disqualify a person from entering the contest.
